Anomalie is a post-black metal project from Leobendorf, Lower Austria, formed in 2011. The band was created by Marrok (also known from acts like Harakiri for the Sky, Austere and others), who writes the music, performs vocals and most instruments. Over time Anomalie expanded to include live musicians for drums, bass and guitars.

Musically, Anomalie blends intense black metal roots with atmospheric, experimental and post-metal elements, creating a sound that moves between fierce aggression, melancholic melodies, haunting ambience and emotional depth. Lyrical themes range from inner conflict and existential questions to nature, spirituality and urban life.

Anomalie released several full-length albums, beginning with Between the Light in 2014, followed by Refugium in 2015, Visions in 2017, Tranceformation in 2021 and Riverchild in 2024. These works saw the project evolve from rawer post-black metal towards more richly textured, atmospheric and progressive compositions. Anomalie has issued music via AOP Records and has appeared at metal festivals and on tours alongside other underground extreme bands.
