Adoniram was an atmospheric black metal and dark ambient project from Izhevsk, active during the mid‑2000s. The band’s sound combined raw black metal foundations with bleak ambient textures, creating a cold, oppressive atmosphere centered on themes of death, spiritual decay, and occult darkness. Their music sits firmly within the Russian underground tradition of minimalist, emotionally desolate black metal, marked by lo‑fi production and a focus on mood over technicality.
The debut album Мой демон (“My Demon”) appeared in 2005, establishing the project’s harsh, suffocating aesthetic. Its follow‑up, Feraliminal (2006), expanded the ambient elements and deepened the project’s descent into ritualistic darkness. Both releases were issued through Firstborn Chaos Productions, a label known for supporting obscure and extreme underground acts.
Little is known about the band’s later activity, and Adoniram eventually disappeared from the scene, leaving behind two full‑length albums that have since become minor cult artifacts among collectors of Russian atmospheric black metal.
