Bide Galdua is a folk/black metal project from Ondarroa, weaving together raw black metal aesthetics with the melodic, percussive, and atmospheric sensibilities of Basque folk tradition. Though little is publicly documented about their formation or early years, the project has steadily built a presence in the Basque underground through a series of intimate, emotionally charged releases that emphasize solitude, memory, and the spectral landscapes of the Basque coast.

The debut demo Hilargi (2022) introduced Bide Galdua’s core sound: lo‑fi black metal riffing intertwined with melancholic folk passages, programmed percussion, and a distinctly introspective tone. The single Argilunean (2023) expanded this palette with a more atmospheric, moonlit approach—its title evoking “in the pale light” or “in the half‑light,” a recurring motif in Basque poetic imagery.

In 2025, the demo Abesti galduak (“Lost Songs”) continued the project’s evolution, leaning further into folk textures while retaining the raw emotional edge of black metal. The release feels like a collection of forgotten chants or personal laments, aligning with the project’s name and thematic direction.

Bide Galdua is entirely driven by Iosu Pertrocanter, who handles guitars, vocals, and all programmed instrumentation. His approach emphasizes solitude and self‑sufficiency, resulting in music that feels handcrafted, personal, and deeply rooted in Basque identity.
