Brahmakshatriya is an esoteric atmospheric black metal project emerging from Madrid, Spain, founded in 2016 by the sole member Septem. Conceived as a ritualistic exploration of Vedic cosmology and occult metaphysics, the project blends raw black metal foundations with meditative drones, traditional Indian instrumentation, and spiritual invocations. The result is a sound that stands apart within the Spanish underground, merging harshness and transcendence into a single ascetic vision.

The debut EP Under the Total Creation (2016) introduced Brahmakshatriya’s distinctive approach: hypnotic tremolo lines, deep ritual ambience, and mantric vocal passages that evoke both primordial destruction and spiritual ascension. The EP’s thematic core revolves around Hindu deities, cosmic cycles, and apocalyptic renewal, expressed through a lo-fi yet immersive production that aligns with the aesthetics of raw atmospheric black metal. Limited to 66 physical copies, the release quickly circulated among collectors of obscure ritual black metal and earned attention for its unusual fusion of Vedic elements with black metal orthodoxy.

Reviews and underground commentary often highlight the project’s ability to channel a sense of mysticism without relying on symphonic excess, instead using sparse arrangements, tanpura resonance, and tabla textures to create an atmosphere that feels both ancient and otherworldly. The tracklist—featuring pieces such as “Om Namah Shivaya,” “Kalki, World’s Destructor,” and “The Triumph of Durga”—reflects a conceptual arc rooted in destruction, purification, and divine power.

Although activity after the EP remains uncertain, Brahmakshatriya has maintained a cult presence due to its singular thematic identity and the enigmatic nature of Septem, who is also known for involvement in other underground projects such as A Lapse of Solitude, Armenon, and Septimo Romae. The project stands as a rare example of Vedic-influenced atmospheric black metal within the Spanish scene, marked by its ritual austerity and spiritual intensity.
