Delion is an obscure black/folk metal band from Geneva, active intermittently from 2010 onward. Their music draws heavily from heroic fantasy, northern myth, and epic storytelling, blending black‑metal harshness with folk‑inspired melodies. Though their activity has been sporadic and their current status uncertain, Delion left behind a small but memorable footprint in the Swiss underground.

The band’s early phase in 2010 featured a short‑lived lineup that dissolved before reforming in 2012 with a more stable structure. Central to Delion’s identity are Brian and Jimmy Poney, two brothers whose creative partnership shaped the band’s thematic and musical direction. Their work emphasizes adventurous, narrative‑driven songwriting—tales of northern realms, battles, and mythic landscapes.

Delion’s first release, The Beginning (2013), is a raw demo that introduced their blend of blackened aggression and folk‑tinged atmosphere. The following year, they released the EP Tales of the Northern Realm (2014), their most developed work and the last known entry in their discography. The EP leans further into epic fantasy themes, with melodic guitar interplay and keyboards that evoke windswept, mythical settings.

While the band’s later activity remains unclear, Delion’s small catalog continues to circulate among collectors of obscure Swiss folk/black metal, appreciated for its earnest, narrative‑driven approach.
