The band started under the name 'Tearful Dawn' but changed its name to 'Elexorien' in May 2005 after having played 3 gigs as 'Tearful Dawn.'

'Elexorien' is one of the Swords of the Ancients, a collection of blades and their history created by Kit Rae.

The band was on good terms with Kromlek; they call themselves "the 'Kromlexorien' pact."

On May 20th, 2011, the band announced via their official website that they had split up.
