Endoval emerged from the Madrid folk metal scene in 2015, embracing a playful, fantasy‑driven approach rooted in the classic European folk metal tradition. Their music blends upbeat melodic riffing with violin, wind instruments, and narrative vocals, creating a sound that evokes tavern tales, mythical creatures, and the whimsical spirit of early folk metal. The band’s aesthetic leans toward lighthearted fantasy, drawing inspiration from trollish folklore, medieval storytelling, and the festive energy typical of Iberian folk metal.
Their first release, “Demo 2016,” introduced Endoval’s core identity: energetic folk melodies, dual guitars, and a strong presence of violin and wind instruments. The demo circulated in the Madrid underground and helped the band gain visibility through local gigs and small festivals, where their cheerful stage presence and fantasy‑themed lyrics resonated with audiences.
In 2018, Endoval released their EP “Tales from Trollhall,” their most polished and ambitious work. The EP expanded their sound with richer arrangements, more dynamic interplay between guitars and folk instruments, and a clearer narrative focus centered on mythical lands and trollish adventures. The release positioned them as a promising act within the Spanish folk metal community, appreciated for their melodic sensibility and their ability to blend humor, fantasy, and metal in a cohesive way.
After the EP, the band’s activity became less visible, and their current status remains uncertain. Nevertheless, Endoval is remembered for their spirited contribution to Madrid’s folk metal scene and their distinctive blend of fantasy‑driven storytelling and festive musicality.
