Eternal Dissonance is an instrumental Atmospheric Black Metal project founded in 2020 in Campos, on the island of Mallorca. Entirely composed and performed by Dargos, the project explores introspective, melancholic, and expansive soundscapes through a blend of atmospheric black metal, ambient textures, and post‑metal influences. Without vocals, Eternal Dissonance relies on layered guitars, immersive atmospheres, and dynamic crescendos to convey emotion, solitude, and inner turmoil.
The debut album “Winds of Melancholy” (2020) introduced the project’s signature style: long, meditative compositions built on shimmering tremolo lines, distant echoes, and a sense of drifting through vast, desolate spaces. The album was well received in the underground for its emotional clarity and its ability to evoke imagery without the use of lyrics.
In 2022, the EP “Enlightened Passage” expanded the project’s sonic palette, incorporating warmer tones, more pronounced melodic development, and a stronger interplay between ambient and black metal elements. The EP marked a step forward in production quality and compositional maturity.
Eternal Dissonance entered a prolific phase in 2025 with the release of the single “Ephemeral Glimpse”, followed by two major works: the full‑length “Through the Endless” and the EP “Mirrors of Torture.” These releases deepened the project’s atmospheric identity, exploring themes of introspection, psychological tension, and the passage through emotional landscapes. The music became more textured and cinematic, with a stronger emphasis on contrast between serenity and turbulence.
In 2026, Dargos revisited his origins with “Winds of Melancholy MMXXVI,” a reimagined and expanded version of the debut album. This release reflects the project’s evolution, offering a more refined production and a deeper emotional resonance while preserving the spirit of the original work.
Eternal Dissonance continues to stand out within the Spanish atmospheric black metal scene for its instrumental approach, emotional depth, and the singular vision of its creator.
