Fegefeuer Anilmathiel was an extraordinarily prolific Atmospheric Black Metal / Ambient project from Murcia, known for its deeply emotional, romantic, and fantastical approach to the genre. The project blended black metal’s cold textures with lush symphonic layers, melancholic ambient passages, and a strong narrative sensibility rooted in longing, fantasy worlds, and inner turmoil.
From 2013 onward, the project was driven entirely by Herthenarth, who composed, performed, and produced all material. His work is characterized by sweeping keyboard arrangements, ethereal atmospheres, and a distinctly European romanticism that sets Fegefeuer Anilmathiel apart from more traditional black metal acts.
Between 2014 and 2017, the project entered a period of astonishing productivity, releasing multiple full‑length albums, EPs, and thematic works—ranging from Tolkien‑inspired soundscapes to symphonic tributes, conceptual fantasy albums, and emotionally charged ambient pieces. This era cemented Fegefeuer Anilmathiel as a cult name among fans of atmospheric, symphonic, and romantic black metal.
After a hiatus, the project resurfaced under the new name Anamura in 2023, continuing the same emotional and fantastical lineage while refining its sound and identity.
