Flor de Loto is one of Peru’s longestârunning and most influential progressive/folk metal and rock bands, founded in Lima in 1998 by Alonso Herrera and Alejandro JarrĂn. Their music blends progressive rock, heavy metal, Andean folk, and fusion, creating a sound often described as “Iron Maiden meeting Jethro Tull in the ruins of Machu Picchu”. Over more than 25 years, they have become a central figure in Peruvian progressive music, performing internationally and releasing a large, diverse discography.
Flor de Loto began as a progressive rock quartet at the Catholic University of Peru, gradually incorporating Andean instruments (quena, zampoña, charango) and heavier metal elements. Their early shows quickly earned them a cult following in Lima’s underground scene, and by the midâ2000s they were recognized as Peru’s leading progressive folkârock act

Lines of Nasca and Cosmos show a polished, modern production and a more melodic, expansive sound, while maintaining their Andean identity. The cover art for Lines of Nasca reflects their cosmicâfolk aesthetic
Flor de Loto is known for its powerful live performances, often featuring extended instrumental sections and fluteâdriven arrangements. Their current lineup includes:
