Forever Slave began in Valencia in 2000, initially rooted in raw black metal before evolving into a more theatrical, symphonic gothic metal sound. Their early demos—Hate (2000), Schwarzer Engel (2001), and Resurrection (2004)—captured a dark, vampiric aesthetic steeped in themes of despair, death, and romantic tragedy. Over time, the band shifted toward a polished, gothic‑symphonic style with female vocals, atmospheric keyboards, and a dramatic, melancholic tone.
Their debut album “Alice’s Inferno” (2005) brought them international attention, blending gothic metal with symphonic arrangements and a conceptual narrative inspired by psychological horror and Victorian aesthetics. The follow‑up, “Tales for Bad Girls” (2008), expanded their sound with a more modern gothic metal approach, stronger hooks, and a darker, seductive atmosphere. Both albums earned the band a cult following, particularly within the European gothic metal scene.
Forever Slave also appeared on several compilations—including Metallian Sampler, Metal Train Compilation, and Live at Wacken 2006—which helped solidify their presence during the mid‑2000s. After 2011, however, public activity slowed dramatically. While no official breakup was announced, the band’s status has remained unclear for years.
