Forlorn in Silence arose in Auli in 1996 as a solitary, atmospheric black metal entity devoted to the ancient Nordic landscape, its darker folklores, and the occult undercurrents woven through regional myth. The project’s early period produced a raw sequence of demos culminating in Swept into Infinity (1998), a debut full‑length defined by mist‑shrouded melodies, distant screams, and a sense of vast, desolate nature. After a brief hiatus, the project resurfaced in 2001 with a renewed focus, releasing an eponymous EP and continuing to refine its sound through further demo work.

Across its sporadic activity, Forlorn in Silence has remained rooted in an intimate, introspective form of atmospheric black metal—music shaped by solitude, winter landscapes, and the spectral presence of old Nordic tales. Though placed on hold, the project’s small but evocative discography stands as a testament to a deeply personal vision, one that channels the quiet, haunting spaces between folklore, nature, and the unseen.
