Godlethe was a melancholic and atmospheric extreme metal band from Barcelona, active through the late 1990s and early 2000s. Their sound fused doom metal’s sorrowful weight with melodic death metal’s emotional intensity and black metal’s bleakness, creating a hybrid style rooted in despair, introspection, and human frailty.

Originally formed under the name Zohlragg, the band evolved into Godlethe as their lineup stabilized and their musical direction shifted toward a more melodic and symphonic form of doom/death. Their compositions often featured violin and keyboards, adding a mournful, gothic edge that set them apart from many contemporaries in the Spanish extreme metal scene.

Their only full‑length album, “Last Breath of Beauty” (1999), stands as their defining statement—a work steeped in sorrow, atmospheric textures, and emotional heaviness. Prior to that, they released two demo tapes, “Last Thoughts” and “Jail of Souls,” which circulated in the underground and helped establish their reputation.

After 2003, the band ceased live activity and quietly dissolved, leaving behind a small but evocative discography cherished by collectors of Spanish doom and melodic death metal.
