Hedera was a melodic death/folk metal band from Bern, active from 2011 until their split in 2021. Founded in November 2011, the band blended energetic melodic‑death riffing with folk‑influenced melodies, violin passages, and dual‑vocal interplay. Their lyrical focus on historical themes gave their music a grounded, narrative quality, distinguishing them within the Swiss folk‑melodeath scene.

They released an early demo in January 2013, followed by the more polished Entwined demo in 2014. Their debut full‑length Itinera (2015) showcased their characteristic mix of melodic aggression and folk instrumentation, while their final album Helical (2021) presented a more mature, refined sound shortly before the band’s dissolution.

Hedera’s lineup remained stable in their later years, featuring musicians active in other Swiss metal projects, especially the Septagramm circle.
