Heid was one of the most distinctive Pagan Black Metal bands to emerge from Madrid in the 2010s, weaving Iberian history, folklore, and traditional instrumentation into a fierce black‑metal framework. Their music balanced raw aggression with folk textures—bouzouki, tambourines, recorders, whistles—evoking medieval Spain, ancient battles, and the mythic memory of the peninsula.
Their early demo “Heid” (2013) introduced their pagan identity, followed by the EP “Voces de la tierra dormida” (2014), which solidified their reputation as one of Spain’s most promising pagan black metal acts. Their full‑length “Alba” (2016) stands as their definitive work: a powerful, melodic, and historically charged album that blends black metal intensity with folk instrumentation and choral arrangements.
The band went on hold in 2017, with members dispersing into other notable Spanish extreme metal projects. Despite their relatively short lifespan, Heid remains a key reference point in the modern Iberian pagan black metal lineage.
