Heiinghund was a short‑lived atmospheric black metal project from Tromsø, active between 2017 and 2021 and rooted entirely in Norse mythological themes. Emerging with a raw yet evocative sound, the project combined icy tremolo lines, distant vocals, and a stark, windswept atmosphere that reflected the northern landscapes from which it originated. Its debut Vargmaane (2017) and the accompanying demo Necro Mancer introduced a style steeped in mythic austerity, followed by Draugkvad (2018), where the project reached a more immersive and narrative form. Later works such as Oddities and Urðrs brønn (2020) expanded this approach with a deeper sense of ritual melancholy and mythic resonance.
Heiinghund’s activity came to an abrupt end in August 2021 after a clarification regarding monikers associated with the legendary Sort Vokter circle, leading to the project’s dissolution and the removal of all releases from official platforms. Despite its brief existence, Heiinghund left behind a body of work that captured a distinctly northern strain of atmospheric black metal—minimalist, myth‑bound, and shaped by the cold, ancestral spirit of Tromsø.
Disbanded in August 2021 due to a mix up of monikers used in Sort Vokter: "the monikers of Heiinghund and Tvigygre have been mixed up. It's been clarified to me by Nidhogg and Heiinghund (Harald). Apparently I remembered the wrong moniker when starting to release music again".
All albums have since been deleted from all official platforms and streaming services.
