Horcobulus

Horcobulus was a short‑lived pagan black/death metal project from Leganés, active between 1998 and 1999 before continuing under the new name The Last Legacy of Elagabal. Their sound combined raw black‑metal aggression with death‑metal weight, shaped by the late‑90s underground aesthetic: harsh vocals, primitive riffing, and a pagan‑themed atmosphere rooted in Iberian extremity.

The band left behind only one known recording, the 1999 demo “MMXIV”, a rough but revealing snapshot of their early direction before the stylistic shift and rebranding that followed. Horcobulus remained obscure, circulating mainly through tape‑trading circles, yet it represents one of the many embryonic pagan black/death acts that populated the Madrid underground at the turn of the millennium.
