Ignis Anima is a power/folk metal band from Madrid, active since 2012 and known for a melodic, uplifting sound built around energetic guitar work, violin lines, and a modern powerâmetal sensibility. Their name, Latin for “Fire of Soul,” reflects the emotional tone of their music: spirited, bright, and driven by themes of perseverance, inner strength, and personal struggle.
Their first demo “Albores de guerra” (2015) introduced a youthful blend of power metal with folkâtinged arrangements. The debut album “Bajo el yugo del tiempo” (2017) expanded their sound with more elaborate violin passages and a polished melodic approach. After a period of singles, the band returned with “Resiliencia” (2025), a fullâlength that showcases a more mature and confident identity, emphasizing strong vocal hooks, layered guitars, and symphonic touches.
Ignis Anima has remained active through lineup changes, gradually refining their style while keeping violin as a defining element of their sound.
