Stormstone is a Cantabrian black/pagan metal project founded in 2013, driven primarily by the prolific multi‑instrumentalist Erun, a central figure in the northern Spanish extreme‑metal underground. The project blends raw black metal, pagan atmospheres, and ancestral northern Iberian mysticism, with a sound that is cold, militant, and steeped in the spirit of ancient rites.
After releasing their debut demo Heirs of All Fights (2013), Stormstone contributed the track The Glorious Storm to Morbid Shrine Productions’ Compilation Vol. II (2015), gaining visibility within the underground. Their 2017 split A Prophecy to Come / Chalice of the Faithless further showcased their harsh, pagan‑infused black metal, marked by Erun’s signature riffing and ritualistic ambience.
Following a hiatus between 2020 and 2022, Stormstone returned with renewed force, releasing the split Ancient Ceremonies, New Wisdom in 2023. This work reflects a more mature, atmospheric direction—still raw, but with deeper pagan overtones and a stronger sense of narrative.
Stormstone remains active under Vertebrae, continuing to channel the harsh, mountainous spirit of Cantabria into their black/pagan metal craft.
