The Last Legacy of Elagabal was a short‑lived but intense pagan black/death metal band from LeganĂ©s, active between the late 1990s and early 2000s. They began in 1998 under the name Horcobulus, recording material that never saw official release. In 1999, after a shift in direction and lineup, they adopted the name The Last Legacy of Elagabal, referencing the Roman emperor Elagabalus—an esoteric, chaotic figure whose legacy fits the band’s dark pagan aesthetic.
Their music combined raw black‑metal riffing, death‑metal weight, and ritualistic keyboard atmospheres, creating a sound that was harsh, primitive, and steeped in occult pagan imagery. Although they never released a full‑length album, their three demos form a clear arc of evolution: from raw beginnings to a more atmospheric, ritual‑driven style.
The band contributed the track Llaves del Alma to the GOI Music compilation A Sangre y Fuego #26 (2005), marking their final known activity before fading from the scene.
