Theratos was a shortâlived Catalan folkâmetal band active until 2021, known for combining festive folkâmetal energy with lyrical themes drawn from Greek mythology, especially the cult of Dionysusâgod of wine, ecstasy, and ritual frenzy. Their music leaned toward the upbeat, melodic side of folk metal, with a humorous, celebratory edge that contrasted with the more solemn paganâmetal acts of the region.
Their only known release, the EP Dionysus Warlords (2021), captured this spirit: drinking hymns, mythological references, and a lively, riffâdriven folkâmetal sound. Shortly after its release, the band ceased activity, leaving the EP as their final legacy.
