Ultreia emerged in 2005 as part of the Madrid folk‑metal wave, blending melodic heavy metal, Iberian folk instrumentation, and lyrical dualities—nature vs. corruption, light vs. darkness, good vs. evil. Their sound sits somewhere between classic Spanish folk metal and the more atmospheric, narrative‑driven branch of the genre: flutes, bagpipes, and dulzaina weaving through guitar‑driven arrangements.

Their debut Sacred Earth (2009) introduced a warm, melodic folk‑metal style rooted in natural themes. The Tree of the Silence (2010) expanded their sound with more emotional depth and stronger contrasts between light and dark atmospheres. Their final known release, the EP Et Suseia (2012), showcased a more mature and polished approach, but after that the band’s activity became unclear.

Ultreia never officially announced a split, but no new material or performances have surfaced since the early 2010s.
