Unspeakable Sorrows is a Madrid‑based gothic/folk‑metal ensemble active since 2018, weaving dark folklore, haunting melodies, and acoustic folk instrumentation into a dramatic metal framework. Their music blends violin, bagpipes, whistles, and keyboards with heavy guitars and dual vocals, creating a sound that sits between gothic melancholy and folk‑driven storytelling. Lyrically, they draw from horror myths, eerie legends, and supernatural folklore, giving their songs a narrative, almost theatrical quality.

Their debut single Dullahan’s Tale (2021) introduced their signature blend of Celtic‑tinged folk and gothic atmosphere, inspired by the headless rider of Irish legend. The follow‑up In Between the Willows (2022) expanded their emotional palette with richer arrangements and a more dramatic vocal interplay. With the addition of a second violinist in 2024, the band’s sound has grown even more orchestral and expressive.

Unspeakable Sorrows remains active and independent, steadily carving out a niche in the Spanish folk‑gothic metal scene.
