Not to be confused with the Asturian heavy/power metal band WarCry.
Warcry (the Madrid/Barcelona viking‑black project) was active from 1998 to 2011 and stood as one of the more extreme, ideologically charged acts in the early Spanish black‑metal underground. Their sound was rooted in raw viking black metal: cold riffing, martial rhythms, and a harsh vocal delivery that leaned heavily on the aesthetics of early 90s northern European black metal. Lyrically, they focused on anti‑Christian themes, Germanic and Celtic myth, and a strong warrior ethos.
Their only known release, the demo Wotan Stands for Victory (2002), is a rare and highly underground recording, circulating mostly among collectors of Iberian raw black metal. The project ended with the death of its central figure, Wulfen, in 2011.
