White Raven is a Catalan melodic folk/death‑metal band formed in 2011, originally as the joint project of Mark Domkan and David Barreda, later expanding into a full lineup. Their sound blends melodic death‑metal riffing, Celtic folk instrumentation, and ritualistic atmospheres, with a strong emphasis on pagan rites, nature, and Celtic cultural memory. The presence of violin, whistles, mandolin, didgeridoo, and yoik/diphonic chant gives the band a distinctive identity within the Iberian folk‑metal landscape.

Their debut full‑length In the Forest (2017) captures this hybrid approach: energetic melodic‑death foundations enriched by folk melodies, atmospheric interludes, and a vocal palette that ranges from harsh growls to ritualistic chants. The album stands as their primary recorded statement and reflects the band’s commitment to blending ancient cultural elements with modern metal.

White Raven remains active, continuing to develop their pagan‑folk identity in the Catalan underground.
