Y3K was a Valencian symphonic black‑metal band active from 2001 to 2012, known for its unusual thematic blend: Lovecraftian horror, samurai mythology, and occult/satanic imagery. Their sound combined fast black‑metal riffing with prominent keyboards, theatrical vocals, and a strong melodic backbone. In 2012, the band officially changed its name to Retribution, continuing with a similar musical direction but under a more conventional identity.

Their early discography consists of singles and demos that explored different conceptual angles—from cosmic horror to Japanese warrior lore—before culminating in their 2007 full‑length Retribution, which later became the foundation for the band’s new name.
