Nightspirit was a symphonic black metal band from Montilla (Córdoba), active from 1999 into the early 2000s. Emerging during a period when Andalusia saw a small but determined wave of black‑metal projects, Nightspirit leaned heavily into the symphonic side of the genre: keyboards, melodic guitar lines, and a dramatic, atmospheric approach that echoed the European symphonic black metal of the late 90s.
Their only known recording, the self‑titled Nightspirit demo (2001), captured the band’s raw but ambitious sound—harsh vocals layered over keyboard‑driven arrangements, tremolo riffs, and a cold, nocturnal atmosphere. The demo circulated locally and through tape‑trading networks, giving the band a modest underground presence.
After 2003, all traces of activity disappear. No official split was announced, but the band appears to have dissolved quietly, as many small Andalusian black‑metal projects of the era did. Several members later surfaced in other Córdoba‑area acts, most notably Velfortr, who was also associated with Absenta.
Nightspirit remains one of those obscure, half‑forgotten names in the Andalusian black‑metal underground—remembered mainly through a single demo and the scattered recollections of those who witnessed the scene at the time.
