Night to Die is one of the earliest Andalusian bands to merge melodic death metal with folk elements, forming in Cádiz in 1994. Their sound combined the aggression and melodic sensibility of mid‑90s death metal with atmospheric touches and occasional folk‑influenced passages, placing them among the first Spanish groups to explore this hybrid approach.
The band’s early years were prolific: between 1995 and 1997 they released several demos—Who I’ll Never Know (1995), At Fireland Depths (1997), and January 97 (1997)—as well as a split titled Cádiz brutal (1997). These recordings circulated widely in the Spanish underground and helped establish Night to Die as a rising name within the southern extreme‑metal scene.
Their most recognized work is the EP All Evil Crying (1999), released through Repulse Records, a label known for supporting early Spanish death and black metal. The EP showcased the band’s strongest material: melodic yet aggressive guitar work, harsh vocals, and a dark atmosphere that hinted at folk influences without fully embracing them. A later split, Sudamerican Porno / All Evil Crying (2003), kept their name alive, though the band’s activity slowed considerably afterward.
In 2013, the compilation Non Omnis Moriar gathered their early material, preserving the legacy of a band that had become increasingly obscure. Since then, Night to Die has remained officially “on hold,” with no confirmed disbandment but no new releases either.
Despite their limited discography, Night to Die holds a small but significant place in the history of Andalusian extreme metal—one of the early attempts to fuse melodic death metal with regional atmosphere and folk‑tinged sensibilities.
