Niobe is a folk rock/folk metal band from Valencia, active since 2015 and known for blending modern rock/metal structures with traditional instrumentation such as flute and violin. Their sound is melodic, upbeat, and rooted in a bright, contemporary Iberian folk sensibility—less pagan or extreme than many Spanish folk‑metal acts, and more aligned with accessible, festival‑ready folk rock.

The band’s early years were marked by rapid lineup changes as they shaped their identity. Their debut EP El renacer (2017) introduced their core aesthetic: violin‑driven melodies, clean vocals, and a warm, uplifting tone. The following year, they released their first full‑length, De la luz y la oscuridad (2018), which expanded their sound with richer arrangements and a more confident fusion of folk and metal elements.

In 2019, Niobe released the EP Sonor Novus, a transitional work that showcased a more polished production and a stable lineup. This release solidified their place within the Valencian folk‑metal scene and demonstrated their ability to balance rock accessibility with folk instrumentation.

Despite the many lineup shifts, Niobe has maintained a consistent creative direction: melodic, energetic, and rooted in the interplay between violin, flute, and modern metal guitar work.
