Obitania began in 2000 as a side project of Obitus Tartarus, originally parallel to his work in Obitus and Berserk. When Obitus left Berserk, Obitania shifted from a peripheral experiment into a full‑time creative outlet. The project’s sound blends raw black metal with pagan atmospheres, ritual ambient passages, and a distinctly Castilian sense of solitude and mysticism.

The early era produced two releases:

After 2003, Obitania entered a long dormancy. Nearly two decades later, Obitus resurrected the project with A Plague Tale (2020), a darker, more atmospheric, and more mature work that reintroduced Obitania to the underground. The album marked a shift toward denser soundscapes and a more narrative, conceptual approach.

Obitania remains a solitary endeavor—introspective, pagan, and uncompromising.
