Occasum Solis was a melodic death/black metal project from Burgos, active between 2011 and 2016. The band was built around the creative force of Silence, a prolific multi‑instrumentalist involved in numerous underground Spanish extreme‑metal projects. Occasum Solis combined sharp melodic riffing with blackened aggression and a lyrical focus on psychological torment—violence, betrayal, nightmares, and inner collapse.
Their sole full‑length, Immersed in the Fear (2014), captured the project’s essence: raw, emotional, and driven by Silence’s characteristic intensity. In 2016 they released the single The Soulbringer Must Die, which would become their final work.
On January 19, 2016, Silence announced the dissolution of Occasum Solis. Three days later, he amended the statement, saying he preferred to leave the project “on hold until [he] find[s] a new motivation to continue.” No further activity followed. Silence passed away in 2019, effectively closing the chapter on Occasum Solis.
The project remains a snapshot of a turbulent creative period—brief, visceral, and unmistakably personal.
