Ocelon is a folk‑metal band from Madrid, active since 2012 and known for blending melodic metal with traditional Iberian and Celtic folk instrumentation. Their sound is defined by violin, whistles, bagpipes, mouth harp, and layered vocal harmonies, supported by a modern melodic‑metal backbone. The band’s approach is festive yet atmospheric, drawing from both northern Iberian folk traditions and the broader European folk‑metal movement.

Their debut demo To Ocelon (2014) introduced their core identity: energetic riffs, bright folk melodies, and a strong emphasis on ensemble interplay. In 2016 they released their first full‑length, Of the Lost Heritage, a more ambitious and polished work that established them as a rising name in the Spanish folk‑metal scene. The album showcased their ability to balance heavy guitar work with traditional instrumentation and multi‑layered vocal arrangements.

Ocelon’s lineup has evolved over the years, with several early members departing as the band refined its sound. Since 2017, the addition of violinist Ester Pedrera and drummer Ruben (also of Celtibeerian) has helped stabilize the group and strengthen its live presence.

Ocelon remains active, performing regularly and continuing to develop their blend of folk tradition and melodic metal.
