Odisea emerged in Alicante in 2011, blending traditional heavy‑metal foundations with folk instrumentation such as violin, flute, whistles, and bagpipes. Their sound sits at the crossroads of melodic heavy metal and Iberian folk, with a strong narrative focus and a bright, uplifting tone typical of the Valencian folk‑metal movement.
The band released their only known full‑length, La leyenda de Aldair (2013), a concept‑driven album built around epic storytelling, melodic guitar work, and a rich palette of folk instruments. After this release, Odisea’s activity becomes unclear. Several lineup changes occurred between 2013 and 2016, including the arrival of new vocalists and folk‑instrument performers, but no further recordings are documented.
By the mid‑2010s, the project appears to have faded into inactivity, though no official split was ever announced.
