Shadowcraft is a long‑running symphonic black metal band from Thessaloniki, active since 2005 and known for a dramatic, keyboard‑driven sound rooted in the Greek black metal tradition. Their music blends sharp, aggressive riffing with dense orchestral arrangements, dark atmospheres, and a lyrical focus on inner torment, solitude, and anti‑religious themes. Over the years, the band has undergone numerous lineup changes, often due to personal or time‑related conflicts, but has maintained a consistent creative core.
The band’s early years produced a series of demos—“A Nightful of Shadows” and “Inside a Sick Mind” (both 2006), followed by a 2009 promo and the “Principles of Chaos” demo (2012). These recordings established their symphonic, melodic, and emotionally intense style. In 2013, Shadowcraft released their first full‑length, “Principles of Chaos”, a culmination of their early work and a defining statement of their sound.
Their most recent release is the split “Entropy” (2017), which continued their blend of orchestral grandeur and harsh black‑metal aggression.
