Biography

Akron is a black metal band from Trieste, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy, formed in 1999. Their sound is rooted in traditional black metal with raw, aggressive textures and a strong underground ethos.

Founded by Moloch (vocals, guitars) and Asmodeus (drums), Akron emerged from the northeastern Italian scene with a fierce and uncompromising approach. Their early work, including the demo The War of Mind (2000), established a foundation of harsh riffing, blast beats, and anti-religious themes. The band’s lyrical focus spans war, darkness, and inner conflict, often delivered with a militant and nihilistic tone.

Akron’s discography includes several demos and full-length albums, such as Il tempio di Bronzo (2004) and Ashes (2009), showcasing an evolution toward more structured compositions while maintaining their raw intensity. Their music often blends second-wave black metal influences with a distinctly Italian atmosphere — cold, defiant, and ritualistic.

Though not widely known outside underground circles, Akron has remained active for over two decades, a testament to their dedication and sovereign path within the Italian black metal tradition.
