The band name means "barren" in German.
In June 2014, Karg announced that after nearly 50 shows, the band would no longer perform live, for "various reasons". Two more shows were played after that in July, one in Vienna (17th) and the last one in Kremsmünster (18th). As in the band's early days, the project would continue as studio-only.
