3xperimental is a symphonic black/death metal project from Berlin, founded and entirely composed by multi‑instrumentalist JB Vincent, who writes, performs, and produces all material. Active since 2005 but publicly emerging much later, the project gained visibility with the release of Virtual World in 2019, introducing a style that blends atmospheric black metal, cinematic orchestration, and electronic elements. Reviews describe the music as immersive and concept‑driven, often built around futuristic or metaphysical themes, with Vincent’s keyboard‑driven arrangements forming the project’s core.

The 2020 album Symphony of Elements expanded this approach, receiving attention for its ambitious layering of choirs, orchestral textures, and experimental sound design. Critics noted the album’s unusual contributors, including guest female vocals and even field recordings such as whale sounds, which reinforced the project’s atmospheric and avant‑garde tendencies. The project’s identity as a one‑man endeavor is central to its aesthetic: Vincent’s role as sole composer gives the music a cohesive, personal tone, while the symphonic arrangements push it beyond traditional black/death boundaries.

Subsequent releases—Dimophos (2021) and Cosmic Tales (2023)—continued to develop 3xperimental’s blend of cosmic ambience, melodic black metal, and symphonic drama. Across all works, the project maintains a strong DIY ethos, operating independently and cultivating a niche following through Bandcamp, YouTube, and underground metal circles.
