Aeditumus was an obscure extreme metal act from Castellón de la Plana, active during the early 2010s and rooted in a hybrid style that blended symphonic black metal, gothic atmospheres, and melodic death metal elements. Although very little is documented about their origins or full period of activity, the band operated within the Valencian underground scene and drew attention for their dramatic, keyboard‑driven arrangements and a sound that balanced aggression with dark, melodic sensibilities.
Their only known release, the demo Mortem Vocantis (2013), showcased the band’s stylistic direction: orchestral layers, dual‑guitar harmonies, harsh vocals, and a strong gothic undertone. The material suggested a group influenced by the European symphonic black/death tradition, yet grounded in the melodic tendencies characteristic of several Valencian bands of the era. The production remained raw and unpolished, typical of independent Spanish underground releases, but the songwriting hinted at ambition and a desire to merge theatricality with extremity.
Aeditumus also appeared on the compilation Most Unholy Convergence II (2012) with the track “Run to My Call,” which stands as one of the few publicly documented pieces of their work. This inclusion helped place them within a network of emerging Iberian extreme metal acts, though the band never achieved broader visibility.
The lineup featured musicians with experience in other notable Spanish groups, particularly from the CastellĂłn and Valencia scenes. Members had backgrounds in melodic death, folk metal, and brutal death metal projects, which contributed to Aeditumus’ stylistic diversity. Despite this, the band’s activity seems to have ceased shortly after their demo, leaving their status uncertain and their legacy limited to a handful of recordings and scattered references.
