Anaboth is a veteran black metal band from Kraków, Poland, formed in 1992 and recognized as one of the early raw black metal forces in the region. Their initial sound was rooted in harsh, primitive black metal infused with themes of Satanism and the Cthulhu mythos, reflecting the occult and esoteric fascinations of the Polish underground of the 1990s. After disbanding in 2000, the group reactivated in 2010, evolving toward a darker, more atmospheric post‑black metal direction while retaining the abrasive edge of their origins.

The band’s early demo Nie czas pomiotów (1996) established their raw aesthetic, marked by lo‑fi production, chaotic riffing, and an uncompromising underground spirit. Following their return, the 2010 demo Epikrytyczne różnicowanie signaled a shift toward more structured songwriting and a broader sonic palette. Their full‑length Pomiędzy światami (2012) expanded this evolution, blending dissonant black metal with atmospheric and introspective elements. The later demo IHS (2016) and the album Ścierwo o bruk (2017) showcased a harsher, more aggressive resurgence, merging their early ferocity with the matured, post‑black sensibilities developed after their reformation.

Anaboth’s lineup has changed significantly over the decades, with the current formation centered on Moloch (guitars, vocals), Hellvis (guitars), PVF (bass), and Szkodnik (drums). Past members include musicians deeply embedded in the Polish black metal scene, contributing to the band’s strong ties with influential acts such as Kriegsmaschine, Mgła, Holy Death, and Gontyna Kry. Now operating under Under the Sign of Garazel Productions, Anaboth continues to embody the raw, occult, and uncompromising spirit that has defined their presence since the early 1990s.
