Arson is a young Serbian black metal band formed in 2023 in Kruševac, quickly carving out a place in the local underground with a sound rooted in raw aggression, horror‑driven atmosphere, and themes of death, domination, and darkness. Despite their recent formation, the band has shown notable productivity and a clear stylistic direction, blending traditional black metal ferocity with a modern, violent edge.
Their debut demo The Sound of Corpses (2023) introduced Arson’s aesthetic: harsh, unpolished production, relentless riffing, and a vocal delivery steeped in malice. The release circulated through Serbian underground channels and drew attention for its intensity and straightforward, no‑frills approach to black metal.
In 2024, the band followed with Pierce Through the Enemy, a second demo that showcased tighter musicianship and a more defined identity. The material leaned further into themes of warfare, terror, and psychological brutality, with a clearer sense of structure and atmosphere. This release marked the beginning of a more stable lineup, allowing the band to expand beyond its initial one‑man origins.
Arson’s first major statement came with the EP Bloodrise (2025), a more mature and cohesive work that solidified their presence in the Serbian scene. The EP was noted for its sharpened production, darker melodic undertones, and a more commanding vocal performance from Desmodus. The addition of new members during this period strengthened the band’s sound, giving Bloodrise a fuller and more dynamic character compared to earlier demos.
Though still early in their career, Arson has demonstrated a clear commitment to the raw, violent spirit of black metal, enriched by themes of horror and existential darkness. Their rapid evolution and growing lineup suggest a band poised for further development within the Serbian underground.
