Connor Fog (also known as Conor Fog; Latvian: Konors Migla) is one of the most prolific and unconventional figures in the Latvian underground. Active since 2012, the project is driven entirely by a single creator who composes, records, and produces all material himself. Connor Fog operates far outside the norms of traditional black metal, merging raw black metal foundations with experimental electronics, ambient soundscapes, pagan themes, science‑fiction narratives, and an almost literary approach to conceptual world‑building.

The project’s sound is intentionally unpredictable: lo‑fi black metal riffs collide with dungeon synth atmospheres, industrial pulses, folk‑inspired motifs, and cinematic ambient passages. Across dozens of releases, Connor Fog has constructed a sprawling mythological and speculative universe, drawing from Latvian folklore, ancient civilizations, cosmic exploration, military history, and futuristic dystopias. Each album functions as a chapter in an ever‑expanding narrative, often centered on war, mysticism, extraterrestrial contact, or alternate histories.

Early works such as 4 (2016) and The Battle for Middle Earth (2017) introduced his raw, experimental approach, blending primitive black metal with fantasy‑driven concepts. By 2019, the project entered a period of explosive productivity, releasing multiple EPs, demos, and full‑lengths that showcased increasing thematic diversity—from the folkloric (Zobens pretÄ« saulei mirdz) to the mythic (Bearslayer) to the socially reflective (President). The 2019–2021 period solidified Connor Fog as a uniquely prolific force, with albums like Caur ērkŔķiem uz zvaigznēm, Ziemeļmāte, and DzÄ«vās rindas expanding both sonic and conceptual scope.

From 2022 onward, the project evolved into a full‑scale narrative engine. Albums such as Nukleārā ziema, Ihtiops, Tumsas māte un 3 Zvaigžņu Ordenis, and Migla pār Latviju explored apocalyptic visions, cosmic mythology, and national identity through a raw yet imaginative lens. The year 2023 alone saw multiple full‑lengths, each with its own thematic universe—from Martian chronicles to dragon lore to zombie warfare.

By 2024–2026, Connor Fog had become one of the most prolific one‑man projects in Latvia, releasing an unprecedented number of full‑length albums. These works delve into military sci‑fi (Sarkanā zona, Peacewalker), cosmic exploration (M57, NeptÅ«na hronika), genetic and technological themes (Zemes DNS, SintētiÄ·is, hIBRIDS), Viking epics (Vikingu ceļŔ), and classified‑file narratives (Slepenie materiāli, Pentagons). Despite the raw production and outsider status, the project has cultivated a cult following for its creativity, thematic ambition, and relentless output.

Connor Fog stands as a singular phenomenon in the Latvian underground: a boundary‑breaking, genre‑defying creator whose work spans folklore, futurism, mysticism, and speculative fiction, all filtered through the aesthetics of raw black metal and experimental ambient.
