Dogman was a depraved and deliberately offensive raw black metal project from Sarajevo, active sporadically across two decades and known for its fixation on bestiality, lycanthropy, alcoholic madness and total sonic degradation. Named after Sovereign’s 2008 album Dogman, the project embraced a bestial, unhinged aesthetic that placed it among the most extreme and deliberately grotesque acts to emerge from the Bosnian underground.

The earliest known recording, Dreaming Werewolf (2003), already displayed the project’s core identity: primitive riffs drenched in distortion, chaotic drumming, and vocals delivered with a feral, drunken hostility. After years of silence, Dogman resurfaced with In Torment I Die (2017), a demo that pushed the sound further into raw, hateful territory—ugly, violent and intentionally unrefined. The EP …of Sovereign Blood & Lycanthropic Pride (2021) paid direct homage to the project’s namesake inspiration, blending bestial black metal with themes of lupine transformation and alcoholic delirium.

Dogman’s final known release, the full‑length Alcoholic Fury & Madness (Total Death) (2022), stands as the project’s most complete and deranged statement. The album is a chaotic assault of blown‑out guitars, pounding minimal percussion and vocals that oscillate between drunken howls and psychotic shrieks. Its atmosphere is one of filth, intoxication and mental collapse—an intentional descent into the ugliest corners of raw black metal. GoatowaRex’s involvement in releasing the material helped bring Dogman to a wider underground audience, where it quickly gained a cult following among collectors of extreme, bestial black metal.

The project was driven primarily by Gustav, one of the most prolific and omnipresent musicians in the Bosnian scene. His involvement in countless projects—Cave Ritual, Deathcircle, Izrod, Night’s Majesty, Nigrum Ignis Circuli, Niteris, Obskuritatem, Sulphuric Night, VraÄŤ, and many more—places Dogman within the broader creative web of the Black Plague Circle and its extended network. Dogman, however, stands apart for its uniquely deranged thematic focus and its commitment to sonic ugliness.

A brief early lineup included Vincent on vocals and bass, though the project quickly became a solo endeavor. With no activity reported after 2022, Dogman is presumed split‑up, leaving behind a small but notorious discography that captures the most feral, intoxicated and unhinged aspects of the Bosnian raw black metal underground.
