Forest of Trys is one of the more chaotic and deliberately abrasive entities in the Lithuanian underground, operating at the intersection of raw black metal, grindcore, and harsh noise. Emerging from Kaunas, the project embraces a fiercely unpolished aesthetic—short, violent bursts of sound, distorted textures, and an improvisational edge that leans heavily into noise‑driven extremity. Their work is less about traditional songwriting and more about capturing a state of frenzy, disorientation, or altered consciousness.

Thematically, Forest of Trys gravitates toward abstract and surreal concepts: cosmic expansion, territorial domination, psychedelic experiences, and fragmented inner landscapes. These themes manifest not through narrative lyrics but through atmosphere—feedback‑drenched riffs, frantic percussion, and samples that create a sense of instability and sensory overload.

Their debut full‑length Architect (2016) introduced this chaotic fusion, presenting a barrage of raw black metal riffs colliding with grindcore velocity and noise experimentation. The Frostburn EP, released the same year, continued in this direction with even harsher production and more fragmented structures. In 2017, Wonders of Trys expanded the project’s sonic palette, incorporating more prominent sampling and abstract sound manipulation, hinting at a shift toward noise‑heavy ritualism.

The only credited member, Ĺ mÄ—kla, handles samples and electronic elements, shaping the project’s identity through layers of distortion, field recordings, and chaotic sound collage. Their presence gives Forest of Trys a distinct character within the Lithuanian scene—less a band in the traditional sense and more a noise‑black hybrid experiment.

Forest of Trys remains active but elusive, releasing material sporadically and maintaining a low public profile. Their work appeals to listeners drawn to the outer edges of extreme music, where structure dissolves into raw sensory force.
