Hëikillä was an esoteric black metal project from Skopje, active during the mid‑2010s and entirely driven by Morgul, a prolific figure in the Macedonian underground known for his work in Ruststained, Enwinted, Чума, and Sincrest. The project distinguished itself through a dense, ritualistic atmosphere and a conceptual framework rooted in occult philosophy, cosmic dissolution, and metaphysical death. All releases were issued in 2016, forming a tightly unified creative cycle.

At the core of Hëikillä’s identity lies a conceptual trilogy: Transcension, Exogenesis, and Apocrypha. Each EP represents a stage in a metaphysical journey—ascending beyond the self, confronting the origins of existence, and finally entering the realm of forbidden knowledge. Musically, the trilogy blends raw black metal with dissonant riff structures, cavernous vocals, and an oppressive, otherworldly ambience. The sound is intentionally unpolished, emphasizing atmosphere over clarity, and aligning the project with the darker fringes of Eastern European occult black metal.

The first EP, Transcension, introduced the project’s ritualistic tone: swirling tremolo layers, hypnotic repetition, and a sense of spiritual rupture. Exogenesis expanded the sonic palette with more chaotic structures and a colder, more cosmic aura. The final chapter, Apocrypha, delivered the most intense and dissonant material, closing the trilogy with themes of revelation, annihilation, and the collapse of human meaning.

In addition to the trilogy, Hëikillä contributed to the 2016 split Behold the Funeral Mountain, further embedding the project within the international underground. All releases were handled by Depressive Illusions Records, a label known for supporting obscure and experimental black metal acts.

Though short‑lived, Hëikillä left a distinct mark on the Macedonian scene, offering one of its most conceptually ambitious and atmospherically dense black metal projects. Morgul’s characteristic style—harsh, introspective, and spiritually confrontational—runs through every track, making Hëikillä a notable chapter in his extensive body of work.
