Hexemeeschter was a short‑lived but potent black metal entity from Luxembourg, active between 2007 and 2009. Conceived as a side project by members of Funerarium and Graaweskeelt, the band served as an outlet for a harsher, more ritualistic strain of black metal—one steeped in occultism, apocalyptic visions and the raw, unfiltered hostility characteristic of the region’s underground scene. Despite its brief existence, Hexemeeschter brought together several of Luxembourg’s most active black metal musicians, resulting in a project that felt both collaborative and intensely focused.

The band’s sole release, the Hexemeeschter demo (2009), stands as a concentrated expression of their aesthetic. The recording is dominated by cold, abrasive guitar work, relentless drumming and a vocal approach that shifts between venomous rasps and ritualistic incantations. The atmosphere is oppressive and occult‑charged, reflecting the band’s thematic focus on Satanism, black magic and eschatological destruction. The production retains a deliberately raw edge, aligning the demo with the lo‑fi ethos of early European black metal while preserving the clarity needed for its layered vocal and guitar interplay.

Hexemeeschter’s lineup was composed of musicians already deeply embedded in Luxembourg’s extreme metal network. De Rais and Graaf—central figures in several local projects—handled guitars and vocals, shaping the band’s melodic and atmospheric backbone. Niwel provided bass and additional vocal textures, while Necroshadow’s drumming delivered the project’s relentless rhythmic assault. Wanterfrascht contributed further vocal presence, adding to the ritualistic and multi‑layered vocal identity that distinguished the demo.

Although Hexemeeschter disbanded shortly after the release of their demo, the project remains a notable chapter in the Luxembourgish black metal landscape. It represents a moment when several key underground musicians converged to create a single, occult‑driven statement—one that continues to resonate among collectors and followers of the region’s extreme metal history.
