Morgue is one of those early‑to‑mid‑2000s Bosnian underground bands whose history is tangled, transitional, and very typical of the era: frequent lineup changes, stylistic shifts, name changes, and a brief but energetic burst of activity before dissolving into obscurity. Emerging from Doboj in May 2005, Morgue began as a raw black/death metal project before mutating into a completely different entity—Psychotorn—and then reverting back to its original form.
This instability is part of its identity. Morgue reflects a period in the Bosnian scene when bands were experimenting, searching for direction, and often reinventing themselves multiple times within a few years.
The band begins as a black/death metal act with a traditional underground setup: guitars, bass, drums, harsh vocals, and even keyboards. This early phase is raw, unpolished, and exploratory.
A major shift:
This period is essentially a different band wearing the same skin.
The band reactivates under the original name with a slightly altered lineup and returns to black/death metal roots. This leads to their final known release:
A raw, underground document of the reformed Morgue.
This is the last trace of the band before it disappears from the scene.

Morgue is a transitional artifact of the mid‑2000s scene:
Its identity is shaped by instability, experimentation, and the DIY ethos of the era. Morgue is not a major pillar of Bosnian black metal, but it is a telling fragment—a snapshot of a scene still forming, still searching, still mutating.
