Obskuritatem (Bosnia & Herzegovina)

Origin: Sarajevo
Status: Active
Genre: Black Metal / Ambient / Noise
Themes: Nihilism, Death, Personal decay
Label: Black Gangrene Productions / Black Plague Circle

Obskuritatem is the defining voice of the Sarajevo Black Plague Circle (BPC)—its most prolific, most influential, and most internationally recognized project. The sound is a fusion of raw black metal, dark ambient, noise, and ritualistic decay, forming a sonic language that is instantly recognizable: claustrophobic, hateful, and spiritually corroded.

O. (the sole creator) is one of the most active figures in the Balkan underground, with dozens of aliases and side‑projects. Obskuritatem is his primary vessel, the one through which the BPC aesthetic crystallized and spread globally.

Position in the Black Plague Circle

Obskuritatem is the central pillar of the BPC.
It is:

Where Nigrum Ignis Circuli is pure nihilism, Cave Ritual is occult descent, and Izrod is urban rot, Obskuritatem is the totality—death, decay, personal collapse, and metaphysical suffocation.

Sound & Aesthetic

Obskuritatem’s sonic identity is defined by:

It is not atmospheric in the romantic sense, nor ritualistic in the esoteric sense.
It is rotting, claustrophobic, and anti‑human.

This is why the project has been released by Black Gangrene Productions, one of the world’s leading labels for raw black metal.
