Odar is one of the pre‑BPC Sarajevo pillars—a project that predates the Black Plague Circle but contains within it the seeds of what would later become the Circle’s core aesthetic. Emerging from the ashes of Capricorn Silhouette, Odar represents a transitional moment in Sarajevo’s underground: the shift from early 2000s melodic/atmospheric black metal toward the raw, hostile, spiritually decayed sound that would define the 2010s.
Their sole full‑length, Zavjet dalekom snu (2008), is a fascinating artifact. It carries remnants of the earlier era—melodic passages, structured songwriting, a sense of melancholy—but it is already infected with the darkness, coldness, and spiritual corrosion that would later erupt fully in projects like Obskuritatem, Nigrum Ignis Circuli, and Cave Ritual.
Odar is not raw in the modern Sarajevo sense, nor ritualistic, nor nihilistic. Instead, it is transitional black metal: atmospheric, sorrow‑tinged, and still rooted in traditional structures, but with a growing sense of decay.
It is also one of the earliest recorded appearances of Odron, who would become one of the defining voices of the Black Plague Circle.

Odar occupies a crucial transitional role:
In the genealogy of Bosnian black metal, Odar is a bridge—a link between the early 2000s melodic era and the 2010s raw, occult, nihilistic wave.
