Par’Dash is a depressive black metal project from Gdynia founded in 2013 by the solitary musician known as Faun, who has remained the project’s only member and creative engine. From the beginning, Par’Dash has embraced the most intimate and emotionally exposed aspects of the DSBM tradition, channeling themes of depression, death, suicide, fractured love, and vampiric romanticism through lo‑fi production, minimalist arrangements, and a deeply personal vocal style. Faun’s approach blends raw black metal aesthetics with melancholic melodies and sparse, atmospheric keyboard layers, creating a sound that feels both fragile and suffocating, shaped by emotional collapse rather than aggression.
The project’s first recordings appeared in 2014 with the demo Mentalny Chaos, a release that immediately established Par’Dash’s thematic core: internal disintegration, obsessive longing, and the psychological violence of isolation. Its rough production and unfiltered vocal delivery resonated with listeners drawn to the rawest edges of depressive black metal. Later that same year, the EP Księga Pierwsza expanded the project’s emotional palette, introducing more structured compositions and a stronger interplay between guitar melancholy and keyboard ambience. Underground listeners noted its sincerity and the way it balanced despair with a sense of fragile beauty.
Par’Dash reached its early peak with the full‑length Iglica (2015), a record often regarded as the project’s most complete and immersive work. The album deepened the project’s exploration of emotional ruin, weaving slow, mournful riffs with anguished vocals and atmospheric passages that evoke both romantic decay and existential exhaustion. Its themes of doomed love and vampiric symbolism added a gothic dimension to the project’s depressive foundation, setting it apart from more traditional DSBM acts.
Though Par’Dash has remained independent and relatively obscure, Faun’s solitary dedication has given the project a consistent identity: deeply personal, emotionally raw, and unafraid to dwell in the darkest corners of human experience. The project stands as a testament to the introspective, confessional side of Polish depressive black metal, where the music functions as both expression and exorcism.
