PassĂ© was a short‑lived post‑black metal project from TarnĂłw, active around the mid‑2010s and centered on a solitary, introspective approach to composition. Though little is known about the musicians involved, the project emerged during a period when many Polish underground acts were experimenting with the fusion of black metal, shoegaze, and post‑rock aesthetics. PassĂ© distinguished itself through a sound that leaned heavily toward melancholy, atmosphere, and emotional weight rather than aggression, embracing the genre’s more reflective and cinematic tendencies.

Their sole release, the 2017 EP Le dernier chapitre de l'existence, stands as a compact but evocative statement. Built around shimmering tremolo melodies, reverb‑drenched textures, and slow‑building crescendos, the EP explores themes of existential fatigue and emotional dissolution. Its French title—“The Last Chapter of Existence”—reflects the project’s preoccupation with finality, memory, and the quiet collapse of the self. Underground listeners and small zines noted the EP’s ability to balance rawness with a dreamlike atmosphere, placing PassĂ© in line with the more introspective wing of post‑black metal emerging in Europe at the time.

Despite the promise shown on this release, Passé disappeared from the scene shortly afterward, leaving behind a single work that captures a fleeting moment of creative intensity. The project remains a minor but intriguing footnote in the Polish post‑black metal landscape, remembered for its emotional sincerity and its solitary, ephemeral nature.
